London Calling

Flower detailing on Lbd

Houndstooth coat from Kohl's, little black dress -Nordstrom's,  Tiffany's heart pendant, black knee highs- Target,  Forever 21 bow cloche hat.

(first three were gifts!)

I still wear that red dress, paint my toes and twirl

Today it is raining where I live. And the Big Bear trip was canceled due to heavy snows and the rain, and my friend who booked it forgot to actually book rooms at a hotel....

So,

I decided I would play resort dress up!
vintage dress

Kenneth Cole Reaction gold wedges

I felt like making myself look pretty during my binge eating and sweatpants day....

I'll post a London Calling look later :)
Have fun!

Feeling down.

I feel like this...

The End by Pearl Jam
What were all those dreams we shared those many years ago,
What were all those plans we made, now left beside the road.
Behind us in the road.

More than friends, I always pledge, ‘cuz friends they come and go,
People change as does everything, I wanted to grow old,
I just want to grow old.

Slide on next to me,
I’m just a human being,
I will take the blame, but just the same, this is not me, you see, believe, I’m better than this – don’t leave
me so cold,
I’m buried beneath the stones,
I just want to hold on and know I’m worth your love, and I, don’t think, there’s such a thing.

It’s my fault now, I've been caught, a sickness in my bones.
How it pains to leave you here with the kids on your own,
Just don’t let me go.

Help me see myself,
‘Cuz I can no longer tell,
Looking up from inside of the bottom of a well, it’s Hell, I yell, but no one hears before, I disappear, whisper in my ear.
Give me something to echo in my unknown future, see here, my dear, the end, comes near, I’m here, but not much longer.

"....nothing better than a hot cup of tea..."

Aren't my grammy's cups cute?!

They're autumn colored.

Hence the sepia.

That's what my grammy always says. I think she's a caffeine addict!

She drinks three to eight cups of tea a day!

Personally, I'm a coffee person, but I do enjoy the occasional cup of tea. I always drink teas at my grammy's house, Even though there is always a hot pot of coffee!

She drinks coffee too, but her vice is English Breakfast tea. It must be hot. It must be strong. It must have one spoonful of sugar and a dollop of cream. And it must be English Breakfast.

I think that's why my own mum and I love English Breakfast tea....

Brooklyn is Burning because of hot sticks!

So this day after Christmas I have gone to Target with my mom and grandmother.
Everythinng was on sale! Pretty cool eh?
Except The faux leather jacket I wanted (by William Rast for Target) was not on sale and not in my size. *sigh*

But it's all good! Because I wore my Urban Outfitters sweater (present courtesy of "Monkey", meaning my father, but he put "Monkey" as the giver.) and my Nordstrom Rack See Thru Soul Bell Bottoms...Yeah seventies vibe felt legit.

Except the super conservative people of Arizona were looking at me like "WTF is she wearing? She's bonkers!"

Sorry, but I didn't want to wear a Juicy track suit or  a pant suit or a long dress with tights and a sweater.

But my favorite gift, was without a doubt my hot stick!

It's this crazy thing....pretty common stuff....but I'm stoked because I get a really cute vintage pin curl look.

I know, most people just get a curl, but whatever. Pin curls are cooler!
See! Except not because my mac's camera isn't great...

Last night when they started falling, and I asleep. ;)

Well this is the contraption! It heats up to 400 degrees in 30 seconds!

Oh...as I was writing this I was listening to Brooklyn is Burning by Head Automatica.

New tidings.

Hey everyone!

I'm sorry for my ridiculous multiple point rant that did not link together at all!

I'm also proud to show off the new changes to this blog.

Yes, there used to be multiple pictures of Audrey Hepburn (my idol) and Cat from Breakfast At Tiffany's.
However, I'm starting my Spring Cleaning early.
I figured this presentation made my words of insanity easier to read and all together more put together and polished.

I hope you all enjoy it! And have a happy Christmas Eve Day!

hyochondriac.

I am a hypochondriac.
However, I feel that I still have various diseases and am not exaggerating.

I think I have body dysmorphic disorder as well as anxiety, chronic migraine, anger management, seasonal depression, and I'm 83% deaf in my right ear.

I might as well spontaneously combust (explode), which I refer to myself doing a lot...

But back to BDD.

Why are people so obsessed with their bodies to the point where there is a disease and side effects given to it?! Including other diseases such as bulimia or anorexia. Why are women always portrayed as skinny minnie blondes with huge boobs and long hair, not to mention a waist smaller than Dita Von Teese's?
Why are women being mutilated to serve men's sexual pleasures (FGM) ?

Why do women mean nothing in this "man's world" when really, women supply the children of tomorrow and are expected to run suburban households.
I just don't understand why women are looked at by men to be sex vixens and baby holders!

More importantly, why are women still being looked at in such abominable light after things like the Women's Suffragist?
I mean come on people! Women are perfectly capable of taking care of their own selves and providing knowledge and peace and dignity to the world? And yet, the ones who are stupid, drinking, partying, wearing-a-bra-for-a-dress ladies keep another negative image thrust upon us.

Forget feminism- it's not true. When you think of it, feminism is really just human rights (and animal, sometimes).
But guys, and girls, give women some kind of respect and signs of gratitude and show us appreciation for the fact that we are strong and beautiful and smart and important.

What society needs to do is stop objectifying women to the point where disorders are formed to the point of anorexia, bulimia, body dysmorphic disorder, and  stereotypical images thrust upon the female (and male...sometimes) race.

huge sweaty snow

Why won't it snow?!
It's so beautiful when it snows! Granted I hate being wet and cold, but I would love to see some snow here. Luckily I'm going to Big Bear for New Years! I'm so stoked! I have my thermals and everything ready to go!

Then I can wear this eco-friendly fiber grandpa sweater!

It's better to buy fabrics that are easy and safe to make. Not only does it save animals, but it makes a smaller carbon footprint if you buy a sweater (or any clothing) made without burning fossil fuels.
I'm going to go to Goodwill in the morning and look for some super cozy grandpa sweaters!
Recycling sweaters is great too, because if you are using fossil fuels to make something, then it should be used until it's thrashed beyond repair.

I don't know....It's like leather, or anything made in a harsh way towards animals or earth,  if it was made forever ago, then I don't mind wearing it....But, I don't want to buy an article of clothing that was made without thinking of animals or the earth new because then I am promoting hurt.

What are your thoughts?

Brown paper packages tied up with strings.

My little family members await their Christmas things! I can't wait to give them to my family!

And....I wrapped my presents with Mother Earth in mind, thanks to Kate Albrecht's post on here.
She's kind of my hero.....But! This is what she inspired!

The presents completed!

Aren't they cute? I think so...

Waiting till Christmas morning!

My pretty tree....Sorry it's blurry! I didn't want a full on tree, but it's my parent's house, so....

The glue got to my head.... :/

My cat was a little Santa drunk...

That's right Annie! I found your stash of Ginger men!

Well!
That's what I did to wrap presents!
Happy holidays!

Burlesque Blues

Burlesque was absolutely amazing!
I adored it.....My cousin loved it too! She's so cool!
We wore our comfy sweaters and got some salted caramel hot chocolate and vanilla bean frappuccinos from Starbucks that we smuggled in (shhh!)
Well.....It's not fair that Christina Aguilera can sing so beautifully, and the majority of the world (myself included cannot)

Well......These Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoes reminded me of Burlesque!

And this nail polish....Which I actually own.....
I thought the curling iron added a Burlesque feel.

Purchased at Sephora, made by OPI,  called Only Gold For Me (top coat)

Raining and pouring beige.

It's been raining buckets here in San Diego! Oh my goodness!
Home for the holidays! Yippee! :D
Oh, And my show, Scrooge the Musical, closed. Thank goodness! That was exhausting, but brilliant! We sold out closing night, which was fabulous!

So.....Today I ran errands with my cousin.....we went shopping for her birthday! I got these adorable X and O earrings from Anthropologie on sale! It was one letter on each little piece of paper, and you had to find the match! They had various letters, but I thought an X and an O were cute!

My dad's beige sweater, Target boots, black leggings, pink and white striped tube socks, cashmere scarf

My great grandmother's stained glass roses necklace

The O

The X

Some Anthro bracelets I've had for a while.

Hometown Glory

This is one of the most amazingly beautiful things that speak to me. This dance made me fall in love with Adele. I listened to the full song over and over again for three days, and it still has an impact.
I truly love it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yte-HphZEVc

Thats the link.

It isn't hard to find the song.

Even easier to find lyrics.

Well, that's been on my mind. I think I have seasonal depression.

But my Uruguayan boyfriend cheers me up. He speaks Spanish to me......Tells me wonderful little sweet nothings. I adore him. I love him. And he loves me too.....Ah young love......It's wonderful. :)

sorry for the exhaustion

Hey guys! Sorry I have yet to post in about a week and a half!
*gasp!*
That's my fault!
I'm currently in this little show called Scrooge, which is the musical version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol.

And
it has just been taking all of my time! Super duper long rehearsals and a full out tech weekend have prevented me from speaking for a while, but I'm back! As of this weekend.....and today is Monday, so.....yeah.

I'm really sorry, the underlining will NOT turn off!

F21 black leggings and bright pink sports bra, fruit of loom guys white v-neck, scarf I took from my dad and pink ankle uggs (not shown)

i gotta hat it to ya'!

I got this hat and these sunglasses today. I'm pretty stoked.

Yes, yes that is a bow that belongs in the back. I just wanted to showcase the little feminine touch.
Can I be a hipster now?

Totally.

Young Folks

Every time I hear Peter and Bjorn I think of the 70's revival and all of the hippie chic I would just love to gobble up. If only more people sent they're 70's vintage to thrift stores rather than keep it for themselves!

And of course these babies!
